The Nikon 1 S1 is a low-cost entry-level version of Nikon’s 1-series compact system cameras. It’s designed to be as fast, stylish and straightforward as a regular compact digital camera, but with better image quality and performance.
Like the other Nikon 1 cameras, it uses a 1-inch sensor roughly mid-way in size between those in compact digital cameras and the sensors in compact system cameras and digital SLRs. It has a resolution of 10 megapixels and the same ultra-high speed shooting modes, Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot features as the other Nikon 1 models.
The Nikon 1 S1 would be a great camera for anyone who wants to step up from a compact camera to get better-quality pictures and interchangeable lenses, but still with the simplicity and automated features of a compact.
