This is a new and unique way of capturing ‘moving’ snapshots on Nikon 1 cameras. It combines a still image with about 1 second’s worth of video, which is then played back in slow motion over about 2.5 seconds, together with a musical accompaniment you can set on the camera.

It’s also possible to convert motion snapshots to regular movie clips using the Nikon ViewNX 2 software that comes with Nikon cameras.
