Autofocus basics

January 14, 2021 by Rod Lawton

There are two things to know about autofocus. The autofocus mode is WHEN the camera focuses, e.g. single AF mode to focus just once when you half-press the shutter button or continuous AF mode to focus continuously. AF points are WHAT the camera focuses on, which can be a focus point in the scene that you choose manually or one that the camera chooses automatically.
