Leg sections (tripods)

Tripods use telescopic legs with varying numbers of sections. The smaller the number of sections (e.g. 3-section legs) the longer a tripod is when folded but the quicker it is to set up and the more rigid it is in use. You can also get 4-section or 5-section tripod legs. A 5-section tripod will fold much smaller but take longer to set up, and may be less rigid.
