Monopod

A monopod is essentially a one-legged tripod, with a telescopic head and a mount at the top for attaching the camera directly or a tripod head. Monopods are not free-standing, but can still provide very valuable extra support for shooting at slow shutter speeds or with long and heavy telephoto lenses.
