PF (Phase Fresnel) lens

PF, or ‘phase fresnel’ lenses are used by Nikon in some of its more advanced telephoto lenses. They use carefully cut concentric ridges to refract and bend the light equally for all the different color wavelengths. Nikon PF lenses are smaller and lighter than regular telephotos of the same focal length.
