A genre of photography often associated with the golden age of photojournalism, and typically show people going about their daily lives, amusing juxtapositions or some kind of social commentary. It’s often in black and white and in a gritty documentary style.
Certain cameras have become popular for street photography because they are compact and portable, inconspicuous and fast to use. Certain lenses have become archetypal ‘street’ photography lenses, typically with a 35mm equivalent focal length and a fast maximum aperture.
